Recently featured in Pool Magazine and Pool Contractor, owner Dago Cabral of Custom Pools has made quite the sensation for himself in 2020. Listed as one of the top pool designers in Miami, Custom Pools is fast creating a reputation for delivering high end custom luxury inground pools. I had a moment to catch up with the owner recently on a webinar we hosted in November. I asked Dago what his plans were to increase his business in the Miami area for 2021.

2020 was certainly a banner year for many inground pool builders. The pandemic has led to a sharp increase in business for many pool contractors. We asked Dago if he attributed this years success to the pandemic. "Believe it or not, the majority of pools we built this year were sold prior to the announcement of the pandemic. Don't get me wrong, we are absolutely slammed for 2021, but this years sales were derived from last years efforts".
It's a sentiment that not many can share in the swimming pool industry. Most pool companies this year have reported a dramatic increase in sales which they largely attribute to the Covid-19 pandemic. The pool industry itself has grown around 20% this year with thousands of new pool companies emerging to take advantage of the boom. Elsewhere in the country we asked Northern Virginia Pool Builders - Crystal Blue Aquatics how the pandemic has impacted their bottom line. "I'd say our business is rougly 30% ahead of where we were last year. It'll be interesting to see if 2021 brings more of the same" said owner Jason De Bosky.
